The Vision

Imagine fully-restored, spongy, friable, healthful, living & protected farm soils, brimming with billions upon billions of beneficial soil citizens (microbial community), helping to drive increased food and nutrition security in Africa and the world at large, and significantly contributing to the seamless sequestration of carbon in the biosphere. This is our core vision, preoccupation and pride, and we’re in it together, as soil is our common ground and our common good.

Getting Rid of Soil Blindness

In a sociologically structured way, Health of the Soil International engages farmers in the crucial process of ridding them of soil blindness and bringing them to the point where they can begin to teach the public the secret skills of soils’ ecosystem roles and how a healthy soil is the foundation of the whole food system and carbon drawdown efforts, and crucial for human survival.

Increasing Farmers Relational Value of Soil

Closely related to the above is our programme that is designed to help with the spiritual regeneration of farmers to increase their relational values of soil health, and use the newly acquired knowledge and energy to advance reliable and proven regenerative farming practices at the heart of the food system and climate crisis solution.

A Wider Advocacy Role

Our advocacy and education programmes are designed to target farmers, organizations, city-dwelling families, individuals, school-age and high school going children, regenerative agriculture entrepreneurs, governments and policymakers to radically prepare them on how to connect regenerative agriculture solutions to the critical food system challenges – one that aims at restoring and protecting the soil and its ecosystems, improving the livelihoods of farmers and enhancing the social and economic well-being of farming communities while seamlessly drawing down atmospheric carbon and locking it down in the biosphere.

Training on monoculture and its disadvantages

At Health of the Soil, we know that the Regenerative Agriculture principles and practices are the non-negotiable systemic requirements for securing true prosperous living soil and long-term social and ecological wellbeing for all.

In the spirit of enabling the mental shifts required for the transitioning from degenerative agriculture paradigm to regenerative agriculture paradigm, we think globally and act locally aiming to provide an inclusive way of thinking and drawing on the regenerative development trajectory which provides valuable insights into the eco-system aspects of regeneration.

Our Regenerative Solution

We develop and execute well-defined transformative soil health and regenerative agriculture based advocacy/campaign, sensitization, educational, training/demonstration, carbon farming, seminar and workshop programmes as tested and tried solutions to soil, nutrient and biodiversity losses, food and climate crises.
